The Guradian
Jetta Amata, the young Nigerian home movie director and producer and son of the veteran actor Zack Amata arrived Cannes Thursday to "screen his new feature film, Amazing Grace'. Soon as the filmmaker sighted him, he raced to the press centre located on the second floor of the Palaise de Festival to invite the Nigerian journalists covering the Cannes to come "meet the only Nigerian filmmaker whose work would be screened at the Cannes". None of the journalists budged because first, the movie was not listed for screening and there was also no prior information about Jeta's intention to screen the movie, which though is still in the works at such a prestigious festival as the Cannes. Ugbomah left disappointed but when he showed up later, he said he understood why the journalists didn't bother. 'The boy thought you can just bring a film to a well-planned festival like this to screen without prior arrangement'
